We will have the opportunity to meet with our DG this year. Please be there to give him a big welcome.
It’s July 1, 2022 - a new Rotary year. Our efforts to provide humanitarian service locally and globally continue. Since 1911 when Rotary became part of the culture of Utah, we have looked for the best ways to move forward. I want to highlight three aspects of Rotary in our district.
Traditions. Our district has a deep history of every club developing its own unique and effective personality that attracts participation. An active club lights a desire in its members to do good in the world, and our Utah clubs are vibrant!
Fellowship is the essence of Rotary. In 1905, Paul Harris invited four friends to join him in developing deeper friendships and business opportunities; 117 years and 1.4 million members later, we continue to develop strong friends who partner in ideas. Caring for our members still is an important part of what we do. We preserve that essence because that’s Fellowship!
Service Projects. We are an amazing group of people who create
incredible service projects that have improved the generations.
Through war, peace, famine, and illness, Utah Rotarians have
solved problems. For example, Dictionaries for Third Graders has
resonated district-wide to provide a literacy resource for thousands
of school children. Coats for Kids has given hundreds of children a
warm coat in cold winter weather. An All-abilities Baseball Field gives people of all ages and disabilities a chance to star in the game.
I am humbled to be the 107th Governor for our district and serve alongside all of you. Our committees and assistant governors, led by Lt. Governor Paul Summers, will be facilitating and encouraging your work every step of the way. When I visit your club, I look forward to hearing about your goals and celebrating your achievements.
